Every culture has its version of Shawl Dancers. Manifesting a sensuous shimmering movement between erotic beauty and the profane, the form of each social dance embodied focuses gender awareness within that particular culture’s evolution. I look for a psychological place where the gesture of the veil need not protect natural beauty from profanity.
